The 2024 Veterans Kayak Event will take place on the Wappingers Creek on Sunday 11 August, from Pleasant Valley behind the Town Hall to Greenvale Park in Poughkeepsie. This will include a creek clean up in anticipation of the 2025 Wappingers Creek Derby. Start time is 1100 in Pleasant Valley. Some kayaks are available for free use to Veterans.
